GSE NC-1 includes the following six projects:
GSE NC-1 GSE NC-1 comprises a portfolio of six power plants with an aggregate capacity of 5.4MW. All are ground-mounted solar PV project located in Murphy and Brasstown, North Carolina. The projects achieved commercial operation in December 2011 and were constructed by Hunt Electric Corporation. The electricity produced from the portfolio is sold to the Tennessee Valley Authority through Blue Ridge Mountain Electric Membership Cooperative, the local distribution cooperative that serves the area. Each year, the project provides more than 7.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to the local community, enough to serve the needs of approximately 700 homes. Over the projects’ life, the CO2 emissions to be saved are estimated at over 195,000 tons, while the SO2 emissions to be saved are estimated at over 862 tons.
