Project GSE NM-1

GSE NM-1 is a 2.9MW ground-mounted solar PV project consisting of 16 sites located in Roswell and Dexter, New Mexico. The project achieved commercial operation in April 2011 and was constructed by Hunt Electric Corporation. The electricity produced from the project is sold to Xcel Energy, the local electric utility that serves the area. Combined with its sister-project, GSE NM-2, the pair will provide more than 9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year to the community, enough to serve the needs of approximately 780 homes. The CO2 emissions saved are estimated at over 226,125 tons, and the SO2 emissions saved are over 994 tons, over the projects’ useful life.
